On January 8, 2008, the UP System will formally start our Centennial festivities through the Centennial Kick-off Ceremonies which will be held in UP Diliman.

All constituent universities, including our Alma Mater, UPLB, will join this momentous event. You, too, are invited to be part of this grand celebration as we mark UPå¢s 100th year of service, leadership, and excellence.

At 12 noon, motorcade from different points (i.e. UP Manila, SLEX, NLEX) will start and proceed to UP Diliman. Various performances and programs will follow at 3pm. A concert featuring the most renowned talents of UP will be staged at 7:30pm. The event will conclude through a grand fireworks display at 11pm.

You may want to drive your car with the UP Centennial Car Plate. Plates (unit price: P2000) and forms are available at OAR. Authority was granted to UPAA Iloilo under LTO endorsement and DOTC approval valid until December 31, 2008 for the exclusive use of the plate by bonafide officials, faculty, alumni, personnel, students and stakeholders of the University.
